Walking in the land of the Bible, the land of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Jesus

What a great opportunity I had to walk literally for two weeks in Israel! What a tremendous blessing and experience!

Nearly four years after my graduation from STEP, I can see how powerful God’s Word is to transform people’s lives. I learned so much at STEP, but I still realized there were many names of places and proximity that didn’t make sense to me because I had no context.

This time in Israel opened my eyes in a completely different way. I visited many places and now understand their connection with the Bible.

The places I visited included the Dead Sea, Arad, Qumran, Masada, the Jordan River, Magdala, Galilee, Capernaum, Caesarea, Caesarea Philippi, Jerusalem, the Garden Tomb, Golan Heights, Tel Dan , Bet-She’an, Gezer, and more. In particular, there is one place called En Gedi that stuck in my mind. It is a place of refuge because this is the place where David fled from Saul.

This place also reminds me of 2 Chronicles 20:12:

“We are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

To summarize, Dr. John Delancey, our guide, said, “Living daily by faith is the essence of following Jesus.“

First, I want to thank God for this opportunity.

I also want to thank Becky and Rick Graves for this investment in my life. I am so thankful. This trip to Israel would not be possible without them.

I want to thank God for someone like Dr. DeLancey who has the gift of teaching and a heart for ministry.

I also want to thank God for new friends we have met during this trip.
